Glazing Vision are a UK manufacturer of rooflight products based right on the Norfolk-Suffolk border at Diss.
Technical experts in the design, manufacture and supply of precision engineered, architectural rooflights and roof windows for residential and commercial buildings, all of our products are designed and built at our 65,000 sq ft premises. We offer products and installation services across the country as well as globally.
We are looking to recruit a Machinist Apprentice to work at our facilities in Diss. Our staff are the very core of our business, and our team is very diverse. Glazing Vision provide a friendly and relaxed environment to work in the heart of rural Norfolk.
Main duties
- To support machining and assembly requirements for both NPD activities and Factory support through Works Orders and direct involvement with the NPD/Bespoke teams.
- To become a skilled user of manual milling, turning, drilling, CNC Milling, hand fitting and assembly.
- Take responsibility for quality and delivery of components and products on time for others in the business.
- To study for a Level 3 Machining course at an acceptable, local college. Or an alternative course that provides training for machining skills.
- To become a skilled assembly engineer, assembling machined components to make mechanisms for rooflights.
- To become familiar with H & S and operating procedures.
Required skills and experience
- 5 GCSE’s or equivalent with Maths and English at good grades
- Positive approach to learning and developing skills and knowledge
- To have skills and attitude to cope with changes, difficulties, pressure
- To have a can do (or teach me how) personality
- To have good attention to detail
- To have pride in their work and their role in supporting the team
- To appreciate the nature of the work and the workplace
- To have a voice for quality, improvements, learning and the wider team and business
