Working for us
Welcome to the family
The Grove Cromer has been run by the same family for nearly 90 years. It is a family business and our staff enjoy that ethos and the fact that The Grove has a feel of a family home. We are professional, but don’t take ourselves too seriously. Life is too short for that.
Just five minutes’ walk from the sea, working at The Grove has a wealth of perks and benefits including use of the pool, discounted rooms, and even free use of our staff SUPs. The Grove is very much staff focused, and we understand the need for flexibility, and that staff have other commitments. We have a great record of training, from wine tasting and mental health programmes to apprenticeships and higher management qualifications. We also have a background of in-house promotion; believing that often the best people to take over senior roles are the people who fit the business well already.
In the hospitality industry, it is easy to clock up the hours and let work take over. But we firmly believe that this should not be the case, pushing people to their limits creates unhappiness, errors, stress and poor mental wellbeing. All our full-time salaried hours are based on a 40-hour-week average, which means, if you end up doing a few extra hours in the peak season, you can look forward to some easy weeks to come.
