The rest of your life starts here
Suffolk New College isn’t just a great place to learn – it’s a launch pad for your future.
With top quality teaching staff and facilities, we’ll help you prepare for academic and career success.
At Suffolk New College, you’ll be signed up to a programme of study rather than a single qualification. We want you to leave us with more strings to your bow and the essential skills that employers are looking for, including English and Maths if you don’t already have them.
We offer a huge variety of courses, including Administration, Art and Design, Beauty Therapy, Business, Childcare, Construction, Electronic Engineering, Games Design, Hairdressing, Health and Social Care, Hospitality and Catering, Information Technology, Media, Motor Vehicle, Music, Performing Arts, Public Services, Science, and Sport.
Our Suffolk Rural campus is the location of our land-based industry facilities and programmes. The campus is located in the heart of the countryside and benefits from a range of specialist vocational workshops and outdoor facilities, as well as general college building.
We also have our On The Coast campuses in Leiston and Halesworth, that offer great vocational teaching in specialist coastal learning environments.
Suffolk New College is the home of Apprenticeships, too. An apprenticeship is a great way to start your career – you’ll learn valuable skills and get recognised qualifications while also earning money.
You can find out more about our courses here.
It’s not all about studying though – we also want you to enjoy a rich and varied experience with us. We have a dedicated Students’ Union and offer an array of sports, societies and social events to help you make the most of your time at College.
Top class facilities
Our modern Ipswich campus has brilliant facilities, including a food court and exhibition space.
And our teaching and training resources include industry-standard automotive, construction and IT workshops, science labs, hair and beauty salons, a spa, 100-seat restaurant and three kitchens, radio, dance and TV studios, a performance venue and an 80-seat lecture theatre.
There is also a Tech campus which is a state-of-the-art purpose-built facility for advanced technologies. The Tech campus provides exclusive access to labs and industry standard workshops for specialist courses in the Creative Media Production, Computing& eSports and Games Design & Games Arts sectors.
What’s more, you’ll find getting to our central Ipswich campus really easy. We’re within walking distance of the railway station and on several major bus routes.
And the lively Waterfront area – which includes University Campus Suffolk – is right on our doorstep.
Our outstanding sports facilities include 11 floodlit football pitches. The College is affiliated with the Association of Colleges Sport, a national organisation which arranges leagues and tournaments for those in Further Education.
Moving from school to college can be a culture shock, so we have created a supportive, social environment where help and advice is easy to find.
Get ready for work or university
Being ‘work ready’ is essential for you to achieve your dream career in today’s competitive jobs market, so the College has developed the ePASS scheme which will set you apart from other applicants on your route to employability.

For those keen to go on to Higher Education, Suffolk New College has a proud record of providing students with the tools to go on to university. Last year, our students won places at a series of top universities, including Goldsmiths, Keele, King’s College London, Loughborough and Warwick.
