About Us

SMS formed in 1999, starting out as a service and support company for the local oil & gas industry in Great Yarmouth. Over the next 4 years, SMS expanded into topside hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical control systems manufacturing as well as acquiring C&M Hydraulics, a hydraulic hose and fitting supplier.

In 2003, Alderley plc acquired SMS to strengthen their company profile; and provide SMS with the support of a plc company, allowing them to accelerate growth and market position. Alderley plc is a multi-disciplined engineering company in the oil, gas and petrochemicals industries, and has bases in the UK, UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Today, SMS is a leading global manufacturer of equipment specialising in hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical control systems; and provider of maintenance and installation services for the oil & gas industry.

Alongside manufacturing, SMS offer:

• offshore and onshore services including site projects
• electrical and instrumentation
• maintenance & inspection.

SMS can also offer spares supply management with support from its in-house stock counter for components, fittings and hoses.
