About us
At Sir John Leman High School we strive to provide the very best in education and we are proud of what we have achieved together in recent years, with our focus being on four key areas: achievement, ethos and values, opportunities and relationships.
Our students are happy, ambitious, resilient and successful; they thrive in a friendly, purposeful environment characterised by high expectations and exemplary standards of behaviour.
Working together as a learning community, we value every student as an individual, developing confidence and self-esteem and inspiring our students to achieve in all areas of school life. We have an excellent reputation for challenging our most able students and for supporting those who require additional help with their studies along with a clear programme of support through each of the key ‘points of transition’.
Our commitment to developing a wide range of opportunities for our students to engage in enrichment activities beyond the classroom is exceptional. We aim for all of our students to achieve their potential and to be prepared to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
Sixth Form
The Sixth Form is very successful and the results are of a very high standard, they reflect the care that is put into devising the best programme of study for each individual and the support that each receives during their course.
The best measure of our students' success is that during their time in the Sixth Form they develop the knowledge, understanding, skills and personal qualities that enable them to progress to the courses and careers they aspire to.
We offer a wide range of both Level 3 and Level 2 courses to suit the needs of our comprehensive intake. In addition to academic courses, our students have access to a wide range of enrichment activities such as recreational sport, Young Enterprise and work experience. There are also many other opportunities to take advantage of to develop your wider skills and interests. These include organising and performing in Rag Week, Enterprise challenges, musical activities (Orchestra, gospel choir, school choir, jazz band), Duke of Edinburgh, Senior Prefects and Sixth Form Council.
