About Care Work
Social Care means supporting and enabling people to stay in their own homes for as long as possible, or within the community – keeping them out of hospital. It’s also about enabling people through supported living to become independent and live the way they choose. There are lots of opportunities to work across a range of specialisms and types of organisations when working in social care in Norfolk.
What Makes a Good Care Worker?
What it means to work in care is different for everyone. A common theme is reward and fulfilment from making a difference to people’s lives. We asked our Care and Support Worker’s in Norfolk to tell us what motivates them, and why they enjoy working in Social Care. Read their stories, watch our videos and find your future in care. Have a look at some of our care stories and listen to some of our I Care…Ambassadors to see if you think a career in this sector is for you.
Careers & Jobs
Our aim at Norfolk County Council is to ensure that everyone in Norfolk who needs care is supported in the setting they choose, to support them in living a fulfilling life as independently as possible. We do this by working with individuals and communities. All of our work is done in partnership with the private and voluntary care sector and we are committed to integrating our services fully with the NHS.
There are a number of different settings;
- Home Care – where you will deliver care in clients homes
- Residential – where you will deliver care in a residential setting
- Day Care – where you will deliver care in a day centre
- Supported Living – where care is delivered within the place they reside
