About us

Home Instead in Norwich specialises in supporting older people to live comfortably and safely in their own homes. Our services include companionship, social activities, light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping and errands, personal care, medication reminders, night care, live in care and specialised dementia and Alzheimer’s care.

Care is provided by our carefully selected Care Professionals, who are matched to each client and visit at a time that the client requests. Our clients' needs range from companionship and weekly help around the home to daily personal care.

Our clients include individuals who have come to us themselves, older children who have contacted us on behalf of their parents, people who receive direct payments from the local authority and individuals who are referred to us by healthcare professionals and support organisations.

The team in Norwich is committed to providing the same quality of care for our clients as we would for our own parents. We passionately believe that appropriate support to help an individual remain living in their own home can dramatically improve both quality and length of life.

We are proud to be the only home care provider in Norwich to receive a 2019 Eastern Region Top 20 Homecare.co.uk award. This award is based on reviews from our clients and their families and is the third consecutive year we have won the award.

What is a role as a Care Professional?

We have a wide range of roles to suit people with varying levels of caregiver experience. Some involve providing companionship, spending time with clients doing what they love best. Others deliver more hands-on care for clients with more specific needs such as dementia, with duties including assisting with bathing and getting dressed. Take a look at our full list of care options here.

Who can become a Care Pro?
Whether you’ve worked in the care sector before or want to make the move into care, we have a role for you. We prize a warm heart and caring nature above previous experience, providing training and support to help you reach your full potential.

Why join Home Instead?
Each Care Professional is a valued member of the team, shown by our market-leading annual satisfaction survey scores. The latest survey we conducted among caregivers found that:

  • 90% completed the survey
  • 95% overall Employee Engagement Score
  • 96% of staff said “they were proud to work for Home Instead”
  • 96% said “they felt motivated to go the extra mile”

Our training is just as exceptional. We are the only care company to be awarded two Princess Royal Training Awards for our Alzheimer’s and dementia training, which is City & Guilds accredited. Supporting and encouraging our caregivers in delivering their vital work is one of our biggest priorities.

Each Home Instead office has a close relationship with its Care Professionals which helps maintain business success. Our values inform everything we do, and that means that our Care Pros know how to deliver exceptional care.

The ‘Home Instead Way’ includes personalised one-to-one care, visits at a minimum of an hour, and an optimistic outlook on age. That’s how our caregivers know that they are making a positive difference to somebody’s life.

Diversity & Inclusion at Home Instead

Everyone in the Home Instead family - whether a colleague, franchise owner, CAREGiver or client - is treated with dignity and respect. A world where everyone is treated fairly, cared for, and appreciated as an individual is something we aim for. We celebrate our diverse and multicultural workforce, ensuring that people's differences are valued so that we can all thrive at work.

Our Equality, Diversity and Equal Opportunities policy is an important pledge that every person signs and agrees to when joining Home Instead. We provide continuous equality and diversity education, training and external HR support to every member of the Home Instead family, from head office through to every member of our UK wide community offices.
