Founded in 1928, Ford & Slater is the largest independent DAF Dealership group in the UK, specialising in:

We have a team of almost 500 employees throughout the group and we pride ourselves on the average length of service within the business. Our low turnover of staff means our team have a wealth of industry knowledge and expertise.
As the group continues to grow, we continue to invest in the next generation of commercial vehicle professionals and in developing apprentices and junior members of staff in both workshop and office positions.
Apprenticeships with Ford & Slater
The DAF Trucks National Dealer Apprentice Programme is a three-year long government approved scheme that combines hands-on workshop training with block release for college training and study. Practical skills and hands-on experience are gained working alongside qualified technicians, while the training and knowledge needed comes from DAF Trucks Centre of Learning at the City of Bristol College.
At the end of the three years, apprentices are awarded with an Advanced Apprenticeship in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Repair, and are at that point fully qualified DAF Truck Technicians.
