Our Vision for Success

We have a clear vision for the Academy and believe very much in developing each and every one of our students so that they can achieve their true potential. We provide the opportunities for success; we develop in our students the skills that they will need in the future; we help them develop as individuals but emphasise their place within the community, helping them to think about and care for others; we guide our students to enable them to become independent learners and good team members.

Part of our success has to be attributed to the fact that we place great emphasis upon the positive relationships we have with the parents/carers of our students. We truly believe in developing a positive and genuine partnership between home and school to ensure that together we can maximize the life chances available to our students; to ensure that they are ‘challenged to achieve!’

Sixth Form

Felixstowe Academy Sixth Form strives to give you the opportunity to fulfil your potential both academically and as a young adult. As a Sixth Form student you will benefit from excellence in the classroom where your learning is of paramount importance. Staff will work with you to support your progress within each subject where you can expect to receive targeted advice on how you can achieve your goals.

We pride ourselves on our focus on learning and our belief in the importance of recognising each student as an individual with different individual needs. We also believe it is important that the Sixth Form promotes the enjoyment of learning and we support the whole student through our de-timetabled events, mentoring and tutoring systems.

In recent years our exam results have highlighted that all Felixstowe Academy students can achieve top grades within key subjects such as Maths and English, which according to the ALPs reports, have placed these subject performances in the top 10% of schools nationally. However, the success doesn't stop with A Level results, over half of the students studying Level 3 BTEC courses achieved Distinction*/Distinction grades, and all students passing their chosen courses.

Alongside academic successes we encourage students to think about how they can enrich their development as young adults. Student 'pledge' to achieve successes in all walks of life from taking a lead in the Student Action Group to supporting Sixth Form Charity events. We want you to be the students of choice for universities and employers and young adults who have developed the skills and interests that prepare you for life in the 21st Century. We also want students to enjoy their time in the Sixth Form.
