A Solar PV Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining solar power systems for various settings, including commercial, residential, or industrial. They work closely with clients to understand their energy needs and develop customised solar power solutions that fit within their budget, space, and energy requirements. Additionally, they conduct research and tests to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of solar power systems.
To get into this role, you could take a degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering and then work for a company that specialises in solar installations or you could find a specific degree relating to renewable energy. A relevant solar power engineering apprenticeship is also another option.
Salary range £28k to £46k
