A Production Technician has the responsibility of assembling and testing manufactured goods before they are released to consumers. They ensure that the products are free from any defects and function as intended. As a member of a larger team, Production Technicians often work in conjunction with the quality assurance department to ensure that they are accurately testing the manufactured goods.
Additionally, they must ensure that the systems and processes used to create these goods are energy-efficient and use natural resources in an economically viable way.
You could get into the role by taking a level 3 college course in Assessment and Quality Assurance or you could combine work and study by taking a technical apprenticeship.
Salary range £22k to £36k
