As the Head of Food Sourcing, your primary responsibility will be to source reliable supply partners for the organisation and develop effective sourcing policies. You will also be accountable for creating budgets and negotiating reasonable and cost-effective contracts. Additionally, you will need to ensure that goods are delivered on time and as per specifications. As a Food Sourcing Manager, it is crucial to prioritise sourcing sustainably farmed ingredients with a low environmental impact.
Entry requirements for this role will vary depending on the type and size of organisation.
Most employers will require a degree in subjects such as business studies/business management, business purchasing and supply, purchasing and logistics or a similar subject.
Entry without a degree is possible by starting in an entry-level role such as administrative assistant, purchasing assistant or assistant buyer. You may also be able to get in through an apprenticeship.
Salary range £42k to £64k
