Job Description
A Bloodstock Agent will advise on the selling, buying, managing and transporting of breeding and race horses for their clients they may also research the pedigree to assess the value of thoroughbreds being offered for sale. They will visit farms that breed horses to view and select foals for purchase, they will meet potential buyers to discuss their needs and determine which horse or horses would best fit them and will attend auctions and bid on behalf of the client.
Entry Requirements
There is no specific qualifications needed to become a Bloodstock Agent, however relevant qualifications and experience will be beneficial.
College
It may be useful to do a college course in Equine Science, Equine Management or Equine Care.
You usually need 4 or 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), or equivalent, for a level 3 course.

University
You could study for a degree in Equine Science or Equine Management, although this is not essential but employers will find this beneficial.
You'll usually need 2 to 3 A levels, or equivalent, for a degree. Entry requirements for courses vary, so you should check with individual colleges or universities.
