Position offered:
We are looking for helpers to sell our delicious fudge at markets, shows and events on a part time basis. The markets are around Suffolk including Hadleigh, Sudbury, Lavenham, Bury etc. as well as Essex and we are looking to expand into Norfolk as well.
A typical market would be set up from 8.30am to anything around 2 or 3pm with slightly longer hours at Christmas.
Requirements:
- be comfortable with talking to people and an interest in food is a bonus
- have own transport
- be reliable and won’t let us down
- own a smart phone to take payments
- be prepared to work on Saturdays and Sundays (usually mornings but at Christmas this may be later)
- will need to do a food and hygiene certificate which is done online and we will pay for it
From our side we provide the following:
- Gazebo
- Table
- Tablecloth and table decorations
- Marketing pamphlets
- Card machine and cash float
- Apron/bags/boxes etc.
We fully support our market staff with training and moral support. We don’t expect you to do it all yourself until you are confident. We are passionate about our fudge products and we want you to be too. We are known in the area for our fudge and we would want you to uphold our name in the markets with good conduct and attitude.
Dates are negotiable and we are reasonable when it comes to which days you would work if you have prior arrangements.
We currently pay £10/hour to my helpers and .45p/mile in travelling expenses. We also pay for an hour set up or longer if it is a bigger event. (We are (slightly) negotiable on this but this is typical of what is paid at markets for help)
