First Friends Preschool is a 30 place Registered charity, committee - led Early Years Care and Education provider, situated 3 miles from Sudbury, Suffolk. We are based in our own purposed built building in the grounds of Great Waldingfield Primary school. The staff team consists of 6 qualified educators, including Manager, Deputy and SENDCO. We have a lovely indoor and outdoor learning environment, including our own wild garden/mud kitchen area. We are registered for children from 2 years to starting school.
Main description
The role of the Early Years Educator Apprentice is to help ensure all children receive outstanding quality care and education and support families to thrive.
As part of the Early Years Educator you will be meeting the children’s individual needs, creating an enriched learning environment and working alongside the Nursery Leadership Team to implement and promote the Early Years Foundation Stage.
What you will do in your working day:
You will be working with children between the ages of 2-5 years, helping support children’s play and nurture their development.
You will be involved in organising activities, in the assessment and record keeping of children's learning and development and working in partnership with colleagues and parents.
You will work alongside experienced Early Years Educators, have a dedicated mentor and have the support of your fellow apprentices
Entry requirements
GCSE Maths and English at level 4 or above - Desired.

Training to be Provided
The learner will be studying the Early Years Educator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
Day release to West Suffolk College.
Functional skills will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held.

First Friends is situated in a village 2 miles outside Sudbury. It is on a public transport route, but buses may not run in time with opening hours.
