Do you know about apprenticeships?

Have you considered one as alternative to university or applying for regular starter positions?  If you find that you learn better by 'doing' or want to access a career path that you don't currently have experience or qualifications for, an apprenticeship could be for you!

An apprenticeship is a real job where you learn, gain experience and get paid. You’re an employee with a contract of employment and holiday leave. By the end of an apprenticeship, you'll have the right skills and knowledge needed for your chosen career.

  • An apprenticeship is a real job that allows you to work and study at the same time
  • Most of your time is spent doing on the job training and the rest is spent gaining a qualification
  • Apprenticeships normally last between 1-4 years to complete depending on the level that you are doing
  • You will get paid a salary and be part of a team, just like all other employees, but you’ll also get dedicated study time
