Together UK are proud to announce that we are launching a pilot scheme “Smoking Cessation for those with a Serious Mental Illness (SMI)”, partnering with Stop Smoking Norfolk and working alongside primary care colleagues.

This initiative aims to improve health and life-expectancy of this hard-to-reach cohort and in doing so reduce health inequalities and further the NHS's Long-Term Plan. We are recruiting for 1 Part Time (15 hours/week) Wellbeing Mentor. This new venture is initially funded to March 2025.

As our wellbeing mentor, you will be highly motivated and imaginative with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage creatively and effectively with this group.

Your role as the wellbeing mentor is to support individuals with serious mental illness (SMI) and complex needs to engage in the service and to achieve their goals and aspirations through individual and team work. You will provide support utilising a fully flexible and person centred approach which builds on an individuals’ strengths.

As our wellbeing mentor you will be experienced in:

  • Training in Smoking Cessation or Counselling
  • OR educated to Diploma level in a health-related field
  • OR equivalent relevant experience in a Health Related Field
  • working in mental health settings with individuals presenting with increased risks

As our wellbeing mentor you will have:

  • Knowledge of relevant strategies and approaches to delivering an effective smoking cessation service
  • OR Experience of working in a Smoking Cessation, Counselling or similar Health-related role
  • OR Up to date knowledge of effective health improvement strategies
