Morris Liberti Legal is a small, ambitious firm. That means the successful apprentice will not be hidden away doing
repetitive administrative work. You will work closely with the firm’s partners and qualified solicitors, contribute to
real cases and gradually take responsibility for your own work and clients
Main description
Morris Liberti Legal is looking for a Solicitor Apprentice to join the firm in Stowmarket. This is a paid, full time role combined with a Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship. Over the course of the apprenticeship, you will work towards an LLB (Hons) in Law and Legal Practice and prepare for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination.
You will gain a university-level qualification, practical legal experience and a route to qualifying as a solicitor,
without paying university tuition fees.
What you will do
Your responsibilities will develop as your knowledge and confidence grow. They will include:
- Drafting correspondence, legal documents and court and tribunal pleadings
- Undertaking legal research
- Preparing hearing bundles and managing case documents
- Supporting the administrative work needed to run cases properly
- Shadowing solicitors at hearings and client meetings
- Attending networking events and representing the firm
- Travelling to meet clients across the country, with expenses paid
- Progressing to client telephone calls and routine communications with other solicitors and opponents
- Managing elements of your own caseload under appropriate supervision
The person we are looking for
We are not looking for someone who already knows everything. We are looking for someone with potential,
personality and the confidence to use both.
You should be:
- Confident enough to speak up and contribute
- Comfortable showing what you can do without pretending to know what you do not
- Willing to ask questions and learn from the answers
- Able to accept constructive criticism and act on it
- Prepared to get stuck into unfamiliar work
- Unafraid of making an honest mistake while learning
- Organised, dependable and attentive to detail
- Comfortable communicating with clients and professionals
- Professional, but still able to show some personality
- Interested in developing a long-term legal career
You do not need to have decided which area of law you eventually want to specialise in.
We currently undertake employment, business finance and commercial work, and the firm’s services are likely to expand as you progress.
We expect you to get involved quickly. You will always have access to a qualified solicitor, and mistakes made honestly while learning will be corrected and used as an opportunity to improve

Entry requirements
Applicants must satisfy the standard entry requirements of the university partnering with the firm for the Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship.
These ordinarily include five GCSEs at grades 9 to 4, including English language and mathematics, together with the required T Level, A-level results (BBB, ABC, ABC, ACC or higher) or equivalent qualifications worth 120 UCAS points.
