Cambridge Porsche Centre are a new and used car dealership conveniently located less than 2 miles from junction 11 off the M11, with easy access from St Neots, Bedford and the wider East Anglia area. We have knowledgeable staff who are all manufacturer-trained experts providing a range of aftersales products and services including servicing and MOT's, where our experts use genuine Porsche parts and accessories. Our Porsche technicians  inspect and certify every vehicle we sell, ensuring quality and safety.

Main description

The role of a vehicle service technician is to maintain, service and repair vehicles to a consistently high standard. This apprenticeship programme is an exciting opportunity to kick start your career with Porsche. Duties include servicing vehicles by carrying out checks and maintenance and repairing and replacing faulty parts.

Service technicians are trained in all areas of vehicle mechanics and electronics, from engine and exhaust systems to air conditioning and security features.

The role will vary by the employer based upon the specific needs of the location, but the position typically involves:

Developing an understanding of workshop equipment
Advising the service receptionists about required repairs
Producing time estimates
Maintaining repair and service records

Training to be provided

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Your training plan

  • The programme lasts for at least 36 months (3 years) and you'll achieve a nationally recognised qualification
  • All our apprentices are employed through the dealer network and attend weeklong block training at our state-of-the-art training centre in Slough
  • Block training is complemented by a combination of regular coaching visits from one of our experienced coaches as well as Virtual Classroom sessions and E-Learning modules
  • Your development is supported through your apprenticeship journey, with your learning focused towards achieving a qualification recognised across the motor industry
  • This will provide the foundation to develop your career, as there are lots of opportunities within our expanding dealer network to progress and move into new roles once you’ve successfully completed the programme
  • Qualification: Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (Light Vehicle)
  • Before the Standard is met, all apprentices must hold a certificate that meets the EU’s 2014 F-gas regulation

Entry Requirements

Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in: English (grade C/4) and Maths (grade C/4)
