Looking to gain experience in education?
Athona Education are looking for reliable, enthusiastic and caring individuals to work as Teaching Assistants in primary schools across Suffolk and Norfolk.
This is a great opportunity for college students, graduates or anyone considering a career working with children to gain valuable experience in a school environment.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers to support pupils with their learning and development. You may work with individuals, small groups or support the whole class, helping pupils stay engaged and confident in their learning.
Your day-to-day responsibilities could include supporting classroom activities, helping pupils with their work, preparing resources and providing additional support where needed.
You will need to be patient, approachable and confident working with children, with a genuine interest in helping young people learn and develop.
Previous school experience is desirable but not essential. We are happy to support individuals who are looking to take their first steps into education.
Entry requirements
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above, or a relevant childcare qualification

- A genuine interest in working with children
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, caring and positive approach
- Confidence working with children and young people
- A reliable and professional attitude
- The ability to work independently and as part of a school team
- A willingness to learn and develop your experience
