The first low-risk debris screens have been successfully installed in the Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire Area (LNA) region.
These stunning images show the first installation, which took place last month at Ingoldmells on the Lincolnshire Coast, three miles north of Skegness. The wind farm visible off the coast is the Lincs Offshore Wind Farm.

The old, existing screen and guardrail were removed and a new, compliant stainless steel screen and guardrail installed.

The guardrails were installed in 150mm by 100 mm sections and offered edge protection while the old rails were removed. Both the guardrail and screen were designed by Haskoning and manufactured by Kite Projects.

The screen, which is hinged and weighs roughly a tonne, is located at the end of a culvert downstream of a pumping station. The screen was bolted to the end of the culvert and installation required teams to work around tide tables.

Working on behalf of the Environment Agency, Jackson teams are installing new regulation-compliant low-risk and high-risk debris screen across the West Midlands, East Midlands and  LNA.

In the LNA, further screens have been installed at nearby Anderby and are due to go in at Boygrift in Lincolnshire later this month. Work is also underway at four low-risk debris screen sites in and around Peterborough.
