Innovate Hire Solutions has partnered with a leading college in the Huntingdon region to recruit a Lecturer in Bricklaying & Groundwork.
We are seeking a confident and motivated construction professional with strong industry experience who is ready to inspire the next generation of tradespeople. In this role, you will deliver high-quality practical and theoretical teaching, helping learners develop the technical skills, industry knowledge, and confidence required to succeed in the construction sector.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Bricklayer or Groundworker looking to transition into teaching, or for an existing FE lecturer seeking a new and rewarding environment.
Main description
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective teaching and assessment across a range of levels
- Plan and prepare high-quality learning materials
- Provide academic, tutorial and pastoral support to learners
- Contribute to curriculum development to ensure programmes remain current and industry-focused
- Maintain accurate records and complete associated administrative duties
Person Specification
- Proven industry experience in Bricklaying, Groundwork, or Construction
- Minimum Level 3 vocational qualification in Bricklaying or a related trade
- Strong technical knowledge and practical expertise
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A passion for supporting learners to achieve their goals
- A teaching qualification is desirable; however, support may be available for the right candidate to work towards one.
Salary & Additional Payments
£26,600 – £43,600 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)
This role is eligible for the Levelling Up Premium Payment via GOV.UK
Eligible FE teachers could receive up to £6,000 per year (after tax) in addition to salary, subject to meeting criteria
