About
Do you enjoy Overwatch or Call of Duty?
Both of those and hundreds of other FPS games owe much to id software's 1993 classic, Doom. Doom is significant for all sorts of reasons, but from a development perspective it pioneered the use of pseudo 3D graphics, networked multiplayer matches and later - through the public's involvement - player created levels (WADs) and content (Mods).
Developer John Romero was at the forefront of Doom and the effect it had on the industry. Hear what he had to say a few years ago when he was interviewed by Game Anglia.
