About
Did you know that 'green' careers that contribute to Net Zero and sustainability are broadly classified into shades of green?
Dark Green
Dark green careers have a major, direct impact on sustainability and carbon reduction. The nature of the occupation itself and related tasks contribute directly to the challenges of net zero and sustainability.
Example job roles include: Offshore Wind Project Manager, Solar Planning Officer, Environmental Engineer
Mid Green
Mid-green careers will play an important though potentially indirect role in sustainability and carbon reduction. They may support dark green jobs and initiatives, or they may incorporate significant additional green related tasks and considerations that the role traditionally would not have included in the past.
Example job roles include: Tree Surgeon, Farm Manager, Manufacturing Engineer
Light Green
Light green careers will see some additional green-friendly processes (and skills required) so that they can play a role in sustainability and carbon reduction. Every little helps and all jobs will be touched to a greater or lesser degree by green issues.
Example job roles include: Marine Pilot, Offshore Crane Operator, Artist, Ground worker
