Mixed NHS and private dental practice with 5 surgeries close to Haverhill town centre. We have been providing dental care to the residents of Haverhill and surrounding villages for over 50 years.
Main description
West End Manse Dental Care are a mixed NHS and private dental practice with 5 surgeries close to Haverhill town centre. They are currently looking for a Dental Nurse apprentice to join and learn within their team.
Assisting the dentists and other team members for a smooth and efficient running of the practice and ensuring the patients receive good dental care. The role will include working with in the dental surgeries, decontamination room and reception. Provide efficient and reliable chair-side support to Practice Clinicians.
Duties can include:
• Sterilising and preparing equipment for dentists.
• Assisting the dentist for dental treatments and mixing materials.
• Recording and dealing with patient records.
• Supporting patients’ wellbeing and dental experience.
• Cleaning dental surgeries, chairs & instruments.
Entry requirements
GCSE Maths and English at grades 4 or above - Essential.

Training to be Provided
The learner will be studying the Dental Nurse (integrated) Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
Functional skills will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held.
Things to consider
This role will involve working with the public. Immunisations of Hepatitis B are required. Bodily fluids such as blood and saliva will be a day to day part of the role.
Future Prospects
Possibity to have additional responsibilities such as radiography and impression taking. If desired can progress onto a hygiene university degree.
