Main description

If you love the outdoors, the thought of working at height doesn't phase you and you want a physical job working in a team, an Apprentice Scaffolder role could be the job for you! You'll have the fantastic benefit of attending college (whilst being paid) to gain your qualification & once qualified, the earning potential could be up to £50k plus!

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Manual handling
  • Working in a team to help erect and dismantle scaffolding
  • Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines on site

Training to be provided

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Your training course
Scaffolder (level 2) Equal to GCSE

Your training plan
Training takes place at the National Construction College, either at Bircham Newton or Erith. 

You will go to college on block release, which will be 2 weeks every 3-4 months. You will stay Monday - Friday both weeks and will have accommodation provided whilst at college, as well as all food paid for, and travel contributed to.

Further training information
Scaffolder Level 2.

The training course is split into 6 blocks and takes roughly 18 months to complete. 

Entry Requirements

Essential qualifications
GCSE in: English (grade 4) and Maths (grade 4)

Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know.

Things to consider

It’s important to remember before applying for this role, that being a scaffolder is a physically demanding job which has to be done in all weather conditions, so we’re looking for people who enjoy working hard, work well in a team and have a positive and respectful attitude come rain or shine!
