Main description

We are Engineering Sub - Contractors, Carrying out Milling, Turning, Sheetmetal and Welding & Fabrication in a 20,000sqft Modern Factory.

You will be reporting to the Machine Shop Manager, and assisting with the operations within the machine shop. Cutting, turning and Milling component parts using both manual and CNC machines.

Entry requirements

Essential:

GCSE or Equivalent in Maths and English Grades 5-9.

Training to be provided

The learner will be studying the Machining Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
Day release to West Suffolk College

Things to consider

You will be working as part of a team and must have a flexible approach. You will be working on some batch work and also large quantities. A good eye for detail and having pride in your work is also a requirement of this role.

Future prospects

On completion of your apprenticeship it would be expected you would have a full time role within the business as a “Skilled Machinist”.
