C B MOWER SERVICES LTD are looking for an enthusiastic person to join their long-standing family company where you will be fully supported by their friendly team of engineers and eventually go on to be a fully qualified horticultural engineer.
Annual wage £13,312 a year
The pay may be negotiated and may rise after a probation period has been successfully completed.
Training course Land-based service engineer (level 2)
Hours Monday to Friday 8am -5pm, with 1 hour for lunch. 40 hours a week
Possible start date Monday 2 September
Duration 1 Year 6 Months
Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
The job will include the servicing and repair of both domestic and professional garden machinery, petrol, diesel and 2 stroke machinery including:
- Working on all types of domestic and professional groundcare equipment
- Learning skills in petrol/2 stroke, diesel, electrics and hydraulics
Key roles will be:
- Supporting technicians and learning skills in all these areas
- Building and carrying out pre-delivery inspections on new machinery
- General housekeeping in the workshop

Would be preferable to be able to drive as we are situated in a rural location which has not got great transport links.
About this company
Established in 1993 - they employ two full-time mechanics (one of whom is the Manager) and 1 part-time. Based in Wimbish, a small village 4 miles south-east of Saffron Walden, Essex. Located in a small industrial estate just outside the village. It is a very quiet area, but very central for customers.
