Design, manufacture, repair and servicing of aluminium ladders, shutters and gantries for the fire, police and commercial market worldwide. Delivery of ladder Maintenance and Repair courses.
Design and manufacture of hose reels, road and tanker fittings and cable drums. The manufacture of pressure and vacuum relief valves. Procurement stockholding and maintenance of emergency fire and rescue equipment
Main description
Supply Plus Ltd manufactures fire rescue ladders and hose reels for the fire industry. Manufacture includes all the machining and fabrication of the components as well as final assembly. They are currently looking for an apprentice CNC Machinist to join and learn within their team.
Outline and Main Duties:
To set and operate CNC machines safely and carry out full quality checks using the appropriate measuring equipment.
Will be a member of the machining team and report to the area team leader who in turn reports to the Production Manager.
The day to day contact will be the team leader

Minimum grades of 4/5 in English and Maths - Essential.

The learner will be studying the Machining Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
Day release to West Suffolk College
Things to consider
The company has 4 CNC lathes, 2 CNC Mills and 3 manual lathes. The successful candidate will be fully trained in the programming, setting and machining of a wide variety of components to be made on these machines. All the equipment is located in our 90000 sq ft factory.
Future Prospects
The applicant will definitely progress to a full-time position on a competitive salary.
Previous applicants have progressed to Production Team leaders and design engineers in our engineering department.
