Apprenticeships

Team NNUH has a range of pathways and access into Healthcare roles. We work closely with schools and universities to highlight how amazing and rewarding a career with us can be.

An apprenticeship is the combination of practical learning and training in a job role alongside the study of a nationally recognised qualification, and since 2010, the Apprenticeship Programme at NNUH has offered a variety of personal development opportunities to new and existing staff.

There are now clear pathways that can be taken by studying an apprenticeship for both clinical and non-clinical positions. For example, we now offer the opportunity to start as an Apprentice Health Care Assistant, before moving onto the Nursing Associate Foundation Degree and Nursing Apprenticeship Degree, or starting as an Administrative Apprentice and progressing onto a Chartered Management Degree course.

An incredible 98% of our apprentices gain employment on completion of their apprenticeship, while 92% obtain a position at NNUH. 28% of the apprentices that have stayed with us in a substantive post have gone onto study further as they look to progress their careers.

To apply for a role as an apprentice at NNUH, you must be aged 16 or over, and have been a resident in the UK or EEA for the last three years. You must not be in any form of formal government-funded education, and must not have a Degree or Level 4 qualification or above in a similar subject.
