Job Description

The role of a Sports development officer is to initiate and encourage behaviour change in local residents with regards to engagement in sport and physical activity across local communities.  They will distribute information and organise sport-related projects, classes, programmes, coaching, club development and training to encourage communities to participate in sport of all kinds, they will also address issues of health, crime and social inclusion.

You'll find it useful to have a foundation degree, higher national diploma or degree in a related subject like:

  • sports development
  • sports coaching
  • sports science

You'll usually need:

  • 1 or 2 A levels, or equivalent, for a foundation degree or higher national diploma
  • 2 to 3 A levels, or equivalent, for a degree

£21,000 to £50,000
