Mid green job

As a Research and Development Agronomist you will carry out research and experiments in a lab to help farmers find the best method to increase quality and production of crops. You will also be responsible for developing methods to protect crops from weeds, pests and harsh climates as well as helping farmers to produce crops in a more efficient and sustainable way which can have a positive impact on the environment.

You will usually need a higher national diploma, foundation degree or degree in a relevant subject such as crop and plant science, ecology, environmental science, agriculture or biology.

You could start by doing an Agriculture Professional Adviser Level 6 Higher Apprenticeship or you could work your way towards the role by taking a college course.

Salary range £22.5k (entry level) to £60k (experienced)
