Mechanical Engineers are involved in the design, testing, development and manufacturing of mechanical systems across a large range of industries. As the world continues to face environmental challenges, mechanical engineers have an important role to play in creating sustainable solutions that can make a huge difference in the world’s efforts towards sustainable living.
Every tool that is developed and implemented by engineers to save energy becomes a milestone in the journey towards environmental sustainability. Another way that mechanical engineers can contribute to environmental sustainability is by looking for effective waste management and recycling strategies.
There are various ways to becoming a mechanical engineer. You could do an advance or higher apprenticeship in mechanical engineering, or you could do a higher national diploma or degree in a related subject.
You could also start as a mechanical engineer technician and do further training on the job.
Salary range £22k to £55k
