The main responsibility of an EV Installer is to design and install EV chargers in various locations such as car parks, streets, private homes, and buildings. With the steady increase in the sales of new electric vehicles expected over the next decade, the demand for more charging points will rise considerably.

To become an EV installer you will need to achieve a Level 3 qualification in EV charge point installation or you could take an apprenticeship   If you are already a qualified electrician you can install EV charging equipment but if you want to become a specialist installer and be OZEV registered which will allow you to install equipment under any of their grant schemes, you’ll need specific training, qualifications and documentation to comply with their requirements.

Expected salary range £32k - £37k
