The role of an Energy Manager is to plan, regulate and monitor the energy used by an organisation to improve efficiency, reduce carbon footprint and implement more sustainable systems.
There are several routes to becoming an energy manager. You could complete a college course in environmental science, energy engineering, or business studies, or a university course in energy management.
You could also train by completing a Level 3 apprenticeship as a junior energy manager.
If you have experience in a related role such as architecture, surveying or engineering you may be able to apply directly to an employer.
The expected salary range for an Energy Manager is £22k - £60k
