With the UK government's target that all new vehicles will be zero emission by 2035, the demand for electric vehicle engineers is set to rise. The opportunities are varied with requirements at the design and concept phase of new vehicles as well as engineering vehicle parts during the build phase and repairs and servicing.
As an electric vehicle engineer you will need a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical engineering. Knowledge of sustainable energy sources and environmental impact is also important.
Most employers will be looking for electrical engineers with a degree in either automotive or electrical engineering.
The expected salary range is £27k (entry level) - £58k (experienced)
