Auto Electrical Technicians install, inspect, and maintain electrical systems contained in automotive vehicles.  They typically work on cars, trucks, buses and other vehicles in the transport industry.  Some may also work on inspecting and repairing agricultural equipment. With many more electric vehicles coming onto the roads, some automotive electrical technicians specialise in electric vehicles, these technicians work on the inspection, maintenance, and repair of electric vehicles to ensure they are safe to drive.

To become an automotive electrical technician, you can take a college course in vehicle maintenance and repair that also covers auto electrical work, or you could take an apprenticeship as an auto electrician.

Salary ranges from £17k (entry level) - £37k (experienced)
