Mid green job

An agronomist advises farmers about crop production and soil management. They will experiment and advise on improving crop yield by examining the soil and water and noting different solutions that enhance plant growth as well as developing methods to protect the crops from weeds, pests, and harsh climates. 

Agronomists can help farmers to become more sustainable and play an active role in tackling climate change.

You will usually need a relevant qualification in agriculture such as a higher national diploma, foundation degree, or degree. 

You could start by taking a level 6 apprenticeship as an Agriculture Professional Adviser.

Salary range £22.5k (entry level)  to £60k (experienced)
