Agritech engineers are involved in developing smart technologies to transform traditional agricultural practices which will help overcome labour issues, enhance animal welfare, and improve the health and nutritional content of crops. Furthermore Agri-Tech engineers are also developing critical solutions to climate-emergency related challenges, as well as disease management.
The opportunities for Agritech innovations across the Agri-Industrial supply chain are limitless and are having a significant impact on the productivity, profitability, and sustainability of businesses across every area of the industry.
To become an AgriTech engineer you could do a foundation degree or degree in Agriculture Technology, Food Innovation and Technology, Agricultural Engineering or another related subject.
You could also get into the role through an AgriTech apprenticeship and then take further training to become an engineer.
Salary range £25k to £45k
