Light green job

3D modelling is used to shape many of the things we see in our everyday lives, from video games to manufacturing and architecture. 3D modelers will create three-dimensional representations of an object or a surface by using computer-based 3D modelling software. During the process they will start with a basic shape such as a cube, box, sphere or whatever is best suited and start moulding and refining until they have the shape desired. 3D modelling can be used by many industries to enhance energy efficiency.  Modelers can simulate the solar radiation, wind flow, daylight and shading of buildings and spaces to estimate energy consumptions, carbon emissions and renewable energy potential.

Entry routes to becoming a 3D modeller can vary depending on the type of modelling you want to do.  Many 3D modellers will have a degree, but you can teach yourself at home by taking a course.

Salary range - £21k to £42k
